The Ghana Football Association on Tuesday formally thanked its corporate sponsors for their contribution to the programmes of the football association.
The meeting chaired by Ghana's deputy minister of sports, O.B. Amoah was attended by seven sponsors of the FA.
Gold Fields Ghana Ltd, Tarkwa & Damang [Headline Sponsors of the Black Stars] , Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited, Ghana Telecom, Ecobank Ghana, Metro TV, Areeba and CCTC are the FA's main sponsors.
The only sponsor unavailable were officials of German kit manufacturers, Puma though the FA would be meeting them soon to hold discussions.
The football association was represented by vice-president -Fred Pappoe, Fred Crentsil, Randy Abbey and FA general secretary, Kofi Nsiah.
The Football Association formally thanked the sponsors and showed its appreciation for their support towards various programmes geared at developing the game in Ghana.
The meeting which was a positive one was also used to brainstorm and see further areas of collaboration between the FA and its sponsors as members of both sides held some frank discussions.
The FA would also be scheduling meetings with all sponsors on an individual basis to address the needs of both sides.
According to FA general secretary, Kofi Nsiah, the meetings would help both parties to fully benefit from their association.
"Sponsorship is a two-way thing. We've got to fully give our sponsors the milage and publicity.
"It's (sponsorship) notonly about us always receiving from sponsors.
"We would be seeking to further explore other areas that would benefit both parties.
"We appreciate the contributions of our sponsors. They have contributed to the development of the game in the country," he told the FA's website.
The general secretary also stated that the FA would soon publish a list of donors who supported the FA in the months leading to the World Cup.
The list which includes names of individuals and corporate bodies would be published as a sign appreciation for their support.
