Reports monitored claim that English side, Portsmouth are lining up a move for Fenerbahce star Stephen Appiah.

According to Sky Sports, Pompey boss Harry Redknapp has been trailing the powerful midfielder all summer after Appiah impressed at the World Cup with Ghana.

Redknapp is in the market for a new midfielder and he is thought to be a big fan of Appiah.

A number of clubs have been keeping tabs on Appiah following his impressive performances in Germany over the summer.

Fenerbahce have resisted all overtures for their star midfielder, but they could now face a fight to keep him after crashing out of the UEFA Champions League to Dinamo Kiev.
