Ghana striker, Matthew Amoah has suffered another injury setback with his club, Borrusia Dortmund.
The striker who missed a greater part of the German Bundesliga last season through a knee injury picked up the same injury last Friday at training.
Amoah, now faces a possible knee surgery.
The 25 year-old Black Stars player only made his Dortmund debut last season on match-day-27 after a long lay off due to injury.
He was expected to begin this season with a bang after playing through all of Ghana's four game at the World Cup and the Black Stars' 2-0 win in their last international friendly against Togo on August 15.
But after consultation with Dortmund team physician, Dr. Markus Braun, Amoah, who joined the team during last season“s winter break from Vitesse Arnheim, has travelled to see a trusted physician in Holland to have a look at the damaged meniscus.
"After that, a decision on whether he will have arthoscopic surgery will be made," said Dortmund coach, Zorc.
If the suspicion of a meniscus tear is confirmed by this examination, the duration of Amoah's absence remains unknown.
