Ghana Telecom, operators of OneTouch, on Wednesday announced a 5.2 billion cedi sponsorship for the upcoming premier league.
Out of the total amount being paid by the telecommunication giants, 3.5 billion cedis will cover the title rights for the league with 1 billion cedis going into media rights.
FA vice president, Fred Pappoe insists the Ghana Football Association is committed to giving its sponsors value for the money they invest in the premier league.
The FA vice president also announced that the football association would be launching the premier league's official website before the commencement of the league.
Welbeck Abra-Appiah chairman of the Professional League Board stated that this year's premiership would be the most competitive due to the format being adopted for the selection of representatives for the 2007 continental competitions.
The PLB boss explained that representatives of Ghana in the next continental competitions would be selected after nine matches of the first round, hence club were expected to start the season on a very competitive note.
Welbeck Abra Appiah however assured the sponsors of an incident free league, as all the necessary measures had been put in place by his outfit to ensure a league, devoid of all forms of negative activities.
The Chief Operating Officer of OneTouch, Philip Sowah at the launch said the company expected all stakeholders to play their respective roles effectively to ensure the success of the league.
