The international transfer rumour mill has been running at full speed with reports of impending moves by Ghanaians dominating the talk.
After impressing at the world cup in their maiden appearance by reaching the knockout stage, Ghanaian players have been in demand with the big spending clubs in the English premiership mentioned as the most likely destinations.
Defender John Paintsil is said to be close to joining Michael Essien, presently the only Ghanaian playing in the premiership after spending two weeks in training with West Ham.
Paintsil, impressive for Ghana at the world cup has reportedly impressed West Ham boss Alan Pardew who could make a 750,000 pound bid for Happoel Tel Aviv player.
"The deal with West Ham is nearly finalised and the player is completely comfortable with an ambitious club that is playing in Europe this season," said Paintsil’s agent Lee Anderson.
Another Ghanaian player linked with an English team lately has been Stars captain Stephen Appiah.
The Turkey based player was in commanding form for Ghana at the world cup, attracting interest from Arsenal.
But the gunners face competition from Portsmouth also in England and AS Roma who are keen to take Appiah back to Italy where he spent eight years with Udinese, Parma and Juventus.
While Appiah could make a return to Italy, another member of the Ghana midfield Sulley Muntari is looking to move from Italy to England with Manchester United often mentioned as the destination.
The Udinese player said during the world cup that he would be interested in a move to and specifically Manchester United.
And with United, Boltom Wanderers and Portsmouth all reportedly interested, the player will be spoilt for choice.
But whoever wants to take the Ghanaian must pay 15 million pounds which is Udinese’s asking price for the former Liberty Professionals man.
"President Gianpaolo Pozzo wants to keep him, but if an offer of £15 million arrives, then it would be impossible to hold onto him." Udinese coach Giovanni Galeone said.
