The senior national women’s football team, the Black Queens leave Accra for Obuasi this morning to wrap up preparations for their African Women’s Championship qualifier against Congo on Sunday.
The Brazzaville team is the only opposition the Black Queens face in their qualification campaign after twice drawing byes in the preliminary qualifying rounds.
Coach of the side, Isaac Paha, says he is positive the preparations made for the match will suffice.
“The Queens under different coaches have always qualified for the AWC with big wins and that status quo will not change when I take charge of affairs on Sunday.
“It’s always better to go for a big win when you play home first because the opponents who would host the return leg always have the time and comfort to correct their mistakes and come back stronger, and that is exactly our game plan for Sunday,” Paha stressed.
