Ghana president John Agyekum Kufuor has signed a bilateral agreement with his Brazilian counterpart Inacio Lula Da Silva to improve the level of football in Ghana.
Ghana will now receive technical assistance in the form of training and hiring of coaches from World football powerhouse Brazil.
The move is aimed at building upon the Black Stars impressive campaign at their maiden World cup appearance in Germany.
Foreign Affairs Minister, Nana Akuffo Addo who was with president Kufuor on their recent trip to Brazil said the move would help Ghana ahead of the next World Cup to be hosted by South Africa in 2010.
“We all know what happened to us at the World Cup and the very good performance that our people made.
“I think that the possibility of Brazilian coaches helping our team in the years ahead, it would make a lot of sense as we approach Johannesburg 2010.
“We can realistically look forward to participating in that competition and also doing much better than we did this time.
“These are part of the arrangement that have been made,” the foreign minister said.
