The World Cup is over and the attention now switches to continental football where two Ghanaian clubs would be looking for glory over the weekend.
Ghana's champions league representatives, Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak will commence the search for continental glory in the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) Champions League competition.
Champions League debutants, Asante Kotoko are away to Algeria's J.S Kabylie of in their opening group game in Algiers.
Though Kotoko will be making their debut in the competition, they are not new in continental football, having won the Africa Club Championship twice.
A good result in the maiden Champions League appearance would put the Porcupine Warriors in good stead for their remaining group matches.
Asante Kotoko head into the game without five regulars of the side.
The Porcupine Warriors will battle with a squad that looks depleted, following the absence of Aziz Ansah and Yusif Chibsah, who on trials abroad.
Attacker, Charles Taylor is not qualified for the game after his loan spell with Kotoko expired last month.
Kotoko's problems do not end there with the suspension of Ghana defender, Shilla Illiasu.
The Black Stars defender is suspended after picking up two yellow cards at the preliminary stages, whilst another defender, Godfred Yeboah is down with an injury.
However, Kotoko coach Emmanuel Kwesi Afranie seems to be undaunted about the situation as he believes the Porcupine Warriors have equally good materials to do battle in Algiers.
Afranie says the absence of the players will provide the needed challenge for the substitutes to live up to expectation.
The former national coach is also banking his hopes on the club's impressive away record during the qualifying rounds.
In the another game, 2000 African Champions, Accra Hearts of Oak make a return to the competition five years after annexing it in grand style.
The Phobians have vowed to repeat the same performance that saw them conquer Africa.
Hearts of Oak are hopeful of beating Nigerian champions, Enyimba FC at the Obuasi Len Clay stadium on Sunday.
The Nigerians will of course be a tough opposition having won the trophy on two consecutive occasions in 2003 and 2004.
Enyimba FC's would be led in attack by Ghana international, Joe Tex Frimpong who comes up against another Black Stars player, Dan Quaye in defence for the Phobians.
