Ghana striker, Asamoah Gyan is ruing his absence from the team’s last group game against the USA on Thursday.
Gyan, who scored Ghana’s first World Cup goal in their 2-0 win over the Czech Republic is suspended for the last game in Hanover after picking a second yellow card on Saturday for taking a penalty without Argentine referee, Horacio Elizondo’s permission.
“I heard the whistle from the crowd.
“I thought it was the referee’s whistle that is why I shot the penalty.
“But all the same I am very sorry missing the next game and I think Ghanaians are going to miss me.”
The Modena FC player picked his first card in the opening game against Italy last week.
But Gyan would take solace in the fact that he enters the history books as scorer of Ghana’s first goal at the World Cup.
