A euphoric reception reserved for champions is expected to welcome the Black Stars home from the World Cup on Friday.

Ministers of State and high ranking government officials would be clad in the national colours on to welcome the Black Stars.

Ghana, making their tournament debut bowed out on Tuesday after losing 3-0 to world chmpions, Brazil in the second round in Dortmund.

The Black Stars before their defeat shock off their first group game loss to Italy to beat the Czech Republic and the United States from Group E.

The plane carrying the Black Stars is expected to touch down at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra at 18:30 GMT.

A statement signed for Kwamena Bartels, Ghana's Minister of Information and National Orientation, said the players would be decorated with floral garlands and would be driven through some principal streets of Accra before finally converging at the Independence Square.

An all night musical show would commence after the welcoming formalities at the Independence Square.

The government is also making available specially designated Metro Mass Transport buses draped in national colours to convey soccer fans from vantage points in Accra to the Airport and the Independence Square.

The statement also read that the reception was part of a programme to show the government's appreciation for the heroic exploits of the Stars at their maiden World Cup appearance.

The Stars were the only African representative to make it to the second round of the on going World Cup in Germany.
