Goldfields Ghana Limited, headline sponsor of the Black Stars, has doled out 5 billion cedis more to facilitate the team’s campaign at next month’s World Cup finals in Germany.
Goldfields Ghana has a standing agreement with the Ghana Football Association to finance the national team’s programs with 3 million dollars over a three-year period.
That is the most lucrative sponsorship deal ever pulled off by the FA in recent times and it has hardly been exhausted.
The Ghana Football Association has estimated that the Black Stars will need over a million dollars to prepare thoroughly for an auspicious campaign in Germany.
Federation Vice-president, Fred Pappoe, is thus upbeat that Goldfields’ latest donation will greatly ease its financial troubles.
