Ghana is among an exclusive list of ten most attractive nations for corporate sponsorship going to the world cup, according to a survey by sports marketing company Global Sponsors.
Though Ghana has never been to the world cup, we make the shortlist ahead of European powerhouse and tournament hosts Germany.
According to the London based company’s research, Brazil is the "most attractive" soccer team ahead of second-place France and third-place England.
Global Sponsors compiled the results through responses from purchasers of sponsorship rights within Fortune 500 companies.
Brazil's "South American cocktail of style and passion in their play" creates a team that the public admires, said founder Michael Stirling.
The announcement was made about a week after U.K. magazine Marketing said the English national team was the world's most valuable by sponsorship revenue.
Portugal and Italy complete the top five in the Global Sponsors list, while South Korea and Ghana were in a top 10 that didn't include host Germany and the U.S.
"These two national teams are undoubtedly powerful platforms, but their attraction to the citizens of the world doesn't extend as well outside of their own national boundaries," Stirling said.
Ranking: 1. Brazil 2. France 3. England 4. Portugal 5. Italy 6. Spain 7. Argentina 8. South Korea 9. Netherlands 10. Ghana
