The President of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi has been conferred with the highest national award in Ivory Coast.
Ivorian President, Laurent Gbagbo would be decorating Kwesi Nyantakyi with the Order of Ivory Coast at a special ceremony in Abidjan today.
Kwesi Nyantakyi left Accra Wednesday morning in the company of Randy Abbey, C.K. Yeboah, Fred Dogbatse – all members of the Executive Committee and FA general secretary, Kofi Nsiah.
The FA presidents of the other four countries that will represent Africa at next month’s World Cup in Germany would also be honoured at the function.
The Ivorian leader’s move to honour all the five FA presidents is his recognition of their efforts at ensuring the qualification of their countries to the World Cup finals.
Ghana, Togo, Tunisia, Angola and Ivory Coast would be representing Africa at next month’s football fiesta.
