The Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association would hold its first extraordinary congress on Friday since the assumption of the present team into office.
The congress would be chaired by the president of the football association, Kwesi Nyantakyi.
Friday’s gathering would see only 21 people taking key decisions which are a departure from the past where some 132 members of congress made enacted laws for Ghana football.
The congress would review the statutes of the football association.
The members would also seek to amend the football calendar, which is expected to be changed.
The Professional League Board of the FA is proposing a July to May football season as pertains in Europe.
FIFA last year ordered an overhaul of the statutes of the Ghana Football Association.
FIFA said in a letter to the GFA that was extremely complex with the superposition of three bodies, Congress, Executive Council and Management Board.
The sport governing demanded that the structure should be streamlined and simplified with a four-power system - the legislature (congress), executive (executive committee) and judiciary (disciplinary and appeal committees), as is the case in FIFA, Confederations and football associations around the world.
