Ghana’s Black Stars put up a spirited second half performance to draw 1-1 with Turkey in an international friendly match in Bochum, Germany last night.
After showing early signs of their intent, the Black Stars lost steam and allowed the Turks to dictate the pace of the game.
Turkey got the opening goal from a defensive blip which saw Ghana full back, Addoquaye Pappoe putting the ball in the path of captain, Nihat.
He rounded up John Mensah before knocking in the ball past goalkeeper, Richard Kingston, to end the first half 1-0.
Back from recess, Black Stars coach Ratomir Dujkovic introduced Razak Pimpong as replacement for Asamoah Gyan and Sulley Muntari for Otto Addo.
The tactical changes turned the game in the favour of the Ghanaians who dominated play until finding the equalizer.
Goalkeeper Richard Kingston threw the ball down the left for captain Stephen Appiah who sent a pin-point cross to the right to Matthew Amoah to score Ghana’s goal.
Ratomir Dujkovic made his third substuition of the game bringing on Alex Techie Menson for goalscorer, Matthew Amoah.
The Black Stars would play Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz on Monday in Leicester.
