The Ghana Football Association intends to halve the number of referees officiating in the domestic premier league next season.
The FA says it will reduce the number of premier league referees from the present 60 to 30 in order to improve the level of efficiency in the performance of the match officials.
Downsizing the number of match officials was a major campaign message for the current GFA President, Kwesi Nyantakyi during his bid to win the seat late last year.
Mr Nyantakyi says his aim is to improve the quality of local refereeing.
