AshantiGold are bracing up for a legal showdown with the Ghana League Clubs Association.
GHALCA are threatening legal means to retrieve an amount of money which they claim is the remainder of a fee they paid AshantiGold for the use of the Len Clay Stadium for the Top Four competition.
This follows the refusal of AshantiGold to refund the cash.
After the first round of matches in the Top Four, GHALCA has decided to move the venue for the second round matches to the Sunyani Coronation Park.
The Top Four organizers are thus demanding a refund of part of their facility user fee from AshantiGold, owners of the Obuasi venue.
But Kudjoe Fianoo, CEO of AshantiGold, told Joy Sports the club has no intention of refunding the money and are prepared for the legal tussle.
“We needed to prepare and we’ve done the preparation. We haven’t done anything untoward to merit the refund.
“I don’t think the facility are given out free for charge, atleast the need to pay the commensurate fee.”
