Ghana's injury worries continue to assume alarming dimensions with just 42 days to the big kick-off World Cup in Germany.
Doctors have confirmed that striker Isaac Boakye may miss the Black Stars' maiden appearance at the tournament after re-injuring his right knee.
Though the injury was initially thought not to be too serious, Boakye will sit out of his German club, Arminia Bielefeld's final three games of the German season.
And, if the injury is confirmed as a meniscus tear, would need surgery.
Isaac Boakye captained the Stars in Wednesday’s trial match against Stuttgart, but had to be substituted because of the injury.
England-based striker Lloyd Owusu also suffered a groin muscle tear in the same game and has effectively been ruled out of Ghana’s World Cup plans.
