The Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) have declared Accra Hearts of Oak winners of their Champions League second round second leg tie with St George of Ethiopia.
St George abandoned the game which was played at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium last Saturday, in the final minutes of the first half in protest of a penalty award given Hearts of Oak by the referee.
Hearts will now play old foes, Etoile Du Sahel of Tunisia, in the final round of eliminators.
The decision is in accordance with Article 16 of the CAF Regulations which prescribes that a club which refuses to play, or leaves the ground before the regular end of the match without the permission of the referee is disqualified and the other side declared winner.
Consequently, St George have been disqualified from the competition.
The Ethiopians were trailing Hearts by two goals and were on the verge of conceding the third from the penalty spot, when they staged the walkout.
