Accra Hearts of Oak left Ghana yesterday afternoon for Addis Ababa where they play St George in a Champions league eliminator.
The weekend’s first leg clash will be Hearts coach Francis Oti Akenteng’s first taste of champions’ league football.
Despite having a good run in the confederations cup last season with Kumasi based King Faisal last season, Oti Akenteng has never coached a side in the more lucrative and prestigious champions league.
He told a local station that his aim is simply to take Hearts to the group stages.
"I'm hopeful of our chances. We need to win this game to ensure we make it into the next stage."
Berekum Arsenals and Kumasi King Faisal also left the country yesterday.
Arsenals are due in Congo where they play the Black Devils on Saturday and King Faisal play AS Bamako.
