Ghana missed the chance to gain more points on the FIFA ranking table after losing narrowly to Mexico on March 1.
The world cup finalist have dropped two places down the FIFA world-ranking log released by the world soccer governing body today.
Ghana who ranked 48th during last months ranking are now placed 50th on the table.
The March edition of the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking was heavily influenced by 82 matches comprising 21 qualifiers for the Asian Cup 2007 and 61 friendlies, many of which were warm-up games for the forthcoming FIFA World Cup.
Nigeria, ranked 12th ahead of Ghana’s world cup group opponents, Italy together with Cameroon and Egypt are the only African sides who are ranked in the top twenty.
Cameroon are 15th on the table with Egypt maintaining their 17th position
On the African continent, Ghana maintained the eighth position on the African ranking table.
Nigerian are still overlords of the African continent with Cameroon placing second.
Reigning African champions Egypt are third and Tunisia take the fourth spot.
There is no change at the top of the ranking, with Brazil leading the way and the Czech Republic, Netherlands and Argentina all in pursuit.
