The Board Chairman of RTU, Lepowura Alhaji M.N.D. Jawula, has stated that the club has not been handed over to Herbert Mensah as being reported by a section of the media.
Reacting to reports which have created the impression that Mr Mensah, the former Board Chairman of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, had taken over the club, the Lepowura revealed that negotiations were still going on and so report could not be wholly true.
Thus, by implication, Herbert is not the Board Chairman of the club as his future role will only be known when negotiations are concluded.
But he said the former board chairman of Kotoko had so far shown goodwill in an attempt to transform RTU into a true professional outfit by providing the club with technical assistance.
In the past weeks, RTU have witnessed the arrival of two expatriates, a physical instructor from South Africa and a German coach.
He disclosed that so far, only a memorandum of understanding existed between the two parties, adding that the hierachy of RTU was consulting with all stakeholders of the club before a final decision on the contract with Mr Herbert Mensah was taken.
That, he said, would be achieved before the Premier League kicked off in July and assured all fans that the board would always seek the interest of RTU.
