Ghana’s Top Four clubs - Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Accra Hearts of Oak, Kumasi King Faisal and Berekum Arsenals, return to domestic competition as the OneTouch Top-4 tourney enters the second week.
Hearts of Oak after their massive 4-0 thrashing by Ethiopian giants, Saint George in Addis Ababa in the CAF Champions League will be embarking on an image redeeming exercise as they trek to the Len Clay Stadium at Obuasi to play King Faisal.
Faisal themselves lost 0-1 to AS Bamako in Mali in the Confederation Cup and need to restore some confidence ahead of their return encounter next week.
The Phobians were comfortable 2-0 winners over Arsenals on the opening day and can move a step closer to clinching the title if they win Sunday’s game.
Coach Karim Zito has settled in well since taking charge of Faisal and he will hope his charges do well against a side that is short of confidence and need to assure their fans of their readiness to register one of the comebacks in African Club Competition next weekend.
But the same cannot be said for Asante Kotoko who have put up some impressive displays in their recent outings.
They produced the best result for a Ghanaian side in Africa last week in holding Ferroviaro of Mozambique in Maputo to a goalless draw with 10 men.
They trek to the Golden City Park in Berekum to take on local side Arsenal in another duel expected to be keenly contested.
Arsenal showed some character on their African debut losing 1-2 in Brazzaville to Diable Noirs and will not be short of confidence taking on the Ghanaian champions.
The Berekum side were unbeaten at their base last season and that included a 2-1 success over the Reds on the opening day.
