The president of the Ghana Football Association Kwesi Nyantakyi says the three technical appointees would improve the Blacks Stars’ monitoring of opposing teams for the world cup.
The Ghana Football Association yesterday confirmed the appointment of three technical persons as scouts for the technical team of the Black Stars.
U.S-based Robert Sackey will team up with coaches Sam Arday and Jones Attuquayefio to provide some technical advise on Ghana’s opponents to coach Ratomir Dujkovic and his assistants before and during the Germany World Cup.
“As part of our efforts to beef up our technical arrangement for the world cup, a scout would be dedicated to an opposition team – would stay with the team, follow them and then provide reports of their training, matches and everything to the head coach.
“This report would be discussed with the view of highlighting the strength and weakness’ of the team and also affording the coach the opportunity to map out relevant and appropriate strategies to contain them.
“The scouts are not suppose to look for players for the coaches.”
Though he is unknown in Ghana, FA president, Kwesi Nyantakyi, says Robert Sackey, who is an astute technical brain in the American Major League Soccer, brings a lot of expertise to the job to complement that of his local compatriots.
