Former Black Stars defender, Tony Baffoe, is relishing his appointment as International Relations Officer for the Ghana Football Association.
The multi-lingual Baffoe, with his huge international clout, is expected to manage the image of the FA abroad while liaising between the FA and the Black Stars, among other duties.
The job brings Baffoe closer to a world cup appearance he never achieved as a player.
And he is delighted at the opportunity to serve his nation.
“It sounds good, international relations co-coordinator. It’s a good name and I’m very proud to give back to my country.
“For me, it was a perfect thing. I have entered into the system and now it’s up to me to prove what I can do and I what I cannot do for the FA, Black Stars and the country.
“I would communicate with the players. I’m the middle man between the officials, the coach and all the players because I think I know how a player reacts in a certain kind of situation and I can always tell the coach or the president that look, you better react in this or that way.
“My role is also to coordinate other things with the media and as well to look for sponsorship for the Black Stars and I think it’s quite full role and I’m going to start with it when I return next week in the office in Wurzburg which has been set up to coordinate everything and hopefully I can give the team a lot,” Baffoe said.
