The board secretary of Kumasi Asante Kotoko says the need to straighten the club’s finances necessitated the postponement of the announcement of the new chief executive.
The board was set to name the CEO from a shortlist of four persons last weekend, but further delayed the announcement opting to name the club’s public affairs director Jarvis Preprah as acting chief executive.
The board secretary Kwame Boafo told a local station the board intends to set the club on sound financial footing to ease the work on the incoming CEO.
"We don't want a situation where the new CEO would have to struggle to raise funds to administer the club.
"Kotoko doesn't need to rely on any person for financial support.
"We would to plan ahead and know our budget for the years ahead and raise the necessary funds to support it.
"We hope to use the time to sort out the issues at hand before naming the CEO."
