Accra Hearts of Oak beat Berekum Arsenals 2-0 to get their GHALCA Top 4 campaign off to a flying start at the El-Wak Park on Sunday.
Competition debutants, Berekum Arsenals held the Phobians for close to the hour mark until striker Eric Gawu came off the bench to score the first goal.
Gawu was the first to react to a long range shot which was spilled by the Arsenal goalkeeper.
The striker simply tapped-in the ball into the yawning net with the goalie sprawled on the ground.
Midfielder Francis Bossman who produced a man-of-the-match performance made sure of the points for Hearts in the 78th minute.
Hearts of Oak now lead the league table after Kumasi Asante Kotoko and King Faisal played a goalless draw at the Len Clay stadium in Obuasi.
Kotoko coach E.K Afranie rested majority of his regular players for the game.
Charles Taylor, Kwame Obeng Darko, Mark Adu Amofah, and Nana Arhin Duah who starred in the Champions league were left out of the starting lineup.
