The annual season opening competition, GHALCA Top Four competition comes off tomorrow with three former champions and a new entrant, vying for the coveted trophy.
The competition had suffered several postponements because of difficulties over match venues and sponsorship.
Cellular network operators One touch, have committed 700 million cedis and products worth 300 million cedis as title sponsors of the tournament.
The participating clubs - Hearts of Oak, Asante Kotoko, King Faisal and Berekum Arsenals have all agreed on a 150 million cedis appearance fee, representing a shortfall of a 100million cedis from last year.
But the organizers have made up for that by offering 45 percent of gate proceeds from home matches to the clubs.
This is an increment on last year’s 30 per cent share for home games.
Winners of the inaugural edition of the tournament, Accra Hearts of Oak, will play new entrants Berekum Arsenals at their adopted El-Wak Park.
But the big fixture on Match-Day-I pitches Kumasi Asante Kotoko against King Faisal at the Len Clay stadium in Obuasi on Sunday.
The match has been billed as a grudge match for Faisal coach, Karim Zito, who was replaced as head coach of Kotoko by E.K Afranie.
