The Ghana Football Association says it is still keen on appealing the four-match imposed on Black Stars midfielder, Laryea Kingston.
The Lokomotiv Moscow was slapped with a record four-match ban during the just ended African Cup of Nations following an altercation with Senegalese defender Habib Beye.
The FA’s moves to appeal the ban in the course of the tournament proved unsuccessful.
The appeal was thrown out by CAF on the grounds that the GFA filed the appeal hours after the deadline had elapsed.
The FA has subsequently been accused of not pulling its weight in the affair, but acting President Fred Crentsil insists they are still keen on having the ban overturned.
“We are still pursuing the case. We have notified the Confederation of African Football but have still not received any response.
“We believe CAF would grant us a hearing and hopefully overturn the ban,” Fred Crentsil said.
Meanwhile, Ghanaian football legend Abedi Pele will meet officials of football’s world governing body in Zurich on Friday to discuss the probability of overturning Black Stars midfielder Laryea Kingston’s ban.
Pele who is due in Switzerland on FIFA business says he’ll take advantage of his trip to impress on FIFA to revise the ban, which was imposed by the Confederation of African Football.
