Ghanaian football legend Abedi Ayew Pele intends to fight Laryea Kingston’s ban, slapped on him during the African Cup of Nations, according to local reports.

The record four-match ban effectively rules the player out of the upcoming world cup.

The Ghana Football Association’s moves to appeal the ban proved unsuccessful after the appeal was thrown out by the Confederation of African Football.

CAF says the GFA filed its appeal hours after the deadline had elapsed.
