Kumasi Asante Kotoko have expressed concerns over the slow pace of work at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.
Kotoko would play the second leg of their African Champions League match against Aigle Royal Menoua of Cameroon at the Obuasi stadium on March 5.
Yet, renovations at the venue seem far from complete.
With the Accra and Kumasi stadia closed for renovations, the Obuasi stadium is one of the three venues to be used by the country’s four representatives for this season’s continental club competitions.
But it must first be refurbished to meet the Confederation of African Football’s approved standard.
AshantiGold Football Club, owners of the facility, are handling the renovations with financial support from the government.
Public Relations Officer of Kotoko, Jarvis Peprah, is appealing to the government to make available the needed funds for the project to be completed in time.
