AshantiGold’s Cameroonian import, Valentine Atem, is looking forward to an opportunity to play for Ghana at the international level.

Atem joined AshantiGold three seasons ago, but his spell has been dogged with injuries.

Nonetheless, Atem says he has enjoyed his stay in Ghana and is prepared to undergo a nationality switch to achieve his dream of playing for the Black Stars.

“Well it is a proposal but I think it’s a better proposal for me.

“If the opportunity comes, I don’t see any reason why I have to hesitate, I would grab it.”

Atem also explained that his decision is due to the selection process of the Cameroonian national team.

“There is a policy in Cameroon where by it is difficult for a player that plays in Africa to be integrated into the national team.

“All the same I have been called up a couple of times but at the last minute, they drop me.

"But it’s not my time, if the opportunity comes, I would take it but time is running out.” Atem told a local station.
