The Professional League Board of the Ghana Football Association is proposing a change of the league season as an effective solution to the perennial problem of interruptions in the premier league calendar.
Ghana has always struggled to meet the CAF deadline for the submission of its candidates for the African club competitions because of several interruptions in the league.
And with the Black Stars set to compete at the Germany World Cup in June, the problem is expected to be more pronounced this season.
Chairman of the Professional League Board, Welbeck Abra Appiah, says aligning the Ghanaian league with other European leagues, would enhance the administration and development of the game.
The Ghanaian premier league begins in March and ends in November.
But Mr Abra-Appiah is hopeful that the executive committee of the GFA would endorse the PLB’s proposition that the league be played between July and April.
