The Ghana Football Association is set to meet with officials of English premiership giants Chelsea over the weekend.
The FA president leaves Ghana tonight with his vice president, Fred Pappoe as well as Jones Abu Alhassan a member of the executive committee. The meeting, which is being convened by Chelsea, is the latest in a series of moves by Chelsea to bridge a gap that seems to be developing between the club and the Ghana FA.
Relations between Chelsea and Ghana have soured lately over Michael Essien’s inability to join the Ghana squad at the African Cup of Nations. Last week the player and officials of Chelsea paid a courtesy call on the Ghanaian high commission in London as part of moves to iron out the frosty relations between the two parties.
Kwesi Nyantakyi, the FA president says they hope to sort out any lingering suspicions at the meeting this weekend.
