Ghanaian striker, Matthew Amoah, would not be in action when his new club Borussia Dortmund clash with Werder Bremen in the German Bundesliga on Saturday.
The player who joined Dortmund last month is nursing a nagging knee injury.
Team doctors were hopeful he would be fit for this weekend’s tie after being left out of the Dortmund squad that played FC Cologne last Sunday.
But Dortmund coach Bert van Marwijk still believes Amoah has not recuperated fully from his knee injury: "Matthew is still behind the rest of the team."
The 25 year-old Black Stars striker is however likely to secure a place on the bench for Dortmund in the home match.
Amoah had been out of practice since Ghana’s exit from the African Cup of Nations after suffering from a hyper extended knee in late 2005.
