The president of the Ghana Football Association, Kwasi Nyantakyi says the football federation have taken total responsibility for the Black Stars’ poor showing at the African Cup of Nations.
The FA Officials fielded questions ranging from the Black jerseys won at the competition to why the team failed to progress in the tournament.
Kwasi Nyantakyi said after thorough assessment of the teams showing in Egypt, it has been reliased that all involved in the game at the time were part of the major problem.
“We take responsibility for the poor performance of the team and hereby apologise for that.
“The exit of the Black Stars at the African Cup of Nations is painful and regrettable,” Nyantakyi said,
“Our performance at CAN 2006 exposed several inadequacies in the team, we cannot pretend as though the team was perfect.”
The GFA said it has enough confidence in the technical abilities of Ratomir Dujkovic and believe that the Serbian manager can change the prepositions before the World Cup in June.
"As far as we are concerned, the status quo remains with regards to the coaching of the team," he said.
"We think that several factors contributed to the team's poor display and it will be unfair to single out one person for blame."
"The performance of the team in Egypt was painful but is a blessing in disguise, because we were beginning to get complacent," Nyantakyi said.
"As a football association we are confident that Dujkovic can make this team better again."
