AshantiGold have concluded successful talks with English side, Liverpool towards a possible partnership.
The reigning European champions would be assisting the Ghanaian club improve their football structure to meet European standards.
AshantiGold were represented by CEO Kudjoe Fianoo and Daniel Owiredu the board chairman of the three-time Ghanaian league champions.
According Kudjoe Fianoo, talks have been very successful and as a follow up, Liverpool legend, Phil Thompson would be arriving in May to assess facilities in Obuasi.
“Liverpool would be improving our technical set up by helping train our coaches to reach UEFA B and A coaching standards.
“Also, at the end of the season, our coach would enjoy some technical assistance from the Liverpool technical team headed by Rafael Benitez,” Fianoo told a local station.
“Liverpool would provide assistance on all fronts and we are expected to meet the standards set the premiership side.
“AshantiGold would have to change their style of play to suit the European system so that anytime one players are been called upon, they wouldn’t have to go through the rudiments of the game.
“Liverpool would have a first option to any of our players. And we are confident that this arrangement would change the corporate image of our club.” Fianoo stated that they would be seeking to learn a lot from Liverpool to improve their administration.
