Black Stars coach Ratomir Dujkovic’s reported recommendation for the appointment of three Ghanaian coaches to augment his technical team has been denied by Kwasi Nyantakyi, the president of the Ghana Football Association.
Dujkovic following the aftermath of Ghana’s exit form the African Cup of Nations was reported to have recommended the appointment of three Ghanaian coaches to augment his technical team.
“I have spoken to Dujkovic on the issue and he categorically denies ever making such a demand.
“I don’t think the journalist who caused the publication meant any harm. Perhaps there was some misunderstanding somewhere.
“What Dujkovic tells me is that he would require some assistance from local coaches in the form of scouting during the world cup.
"For now therefore, the status quo would be maintained.
“Of course, sound advice from sound technical brains would always be welcome,” Nyantakyi said.
The FA president is calling on Ghanaian soccer fans to remain sober following the Black Stars’ exit from the African Cup of Nations.
Dujkovic according to the local bi-weekly sports paper, the Graphic Sports said that he would require local assistants to help in the team’s preparation for the 2006 World cup in Germany.
With 30 players expected to be called up for pre-tournament camping, Dujkovic says he’ll require more hands to handle the team as well as use the new assistants for scouting purposes.
A Venezuelan assistant, Ali Kanyas Jose was appointed just before the commencement of the nations cup competition, but Dujkovic says Sellas Tetteh remains his first assistant with Kanyas his assistant.
