Following their first round exit at the ongoing African cup of Nations, the Black Stars arrived in the country without much fanfare.
Defenders Samuel Osei Kuffour and John Mensah arrived in an advance party of supporters before the rest of the team flew in two hours later.
The entire team, including the technical handlers, players and GFA officials refused to speak to the press on arrival.
The few gathered pressmen were told in a curt manner that a press conference has been scheduled for Tuesday February 10.
The Black Stars were driven off the tarmac under a heavy security escort of both army and police personnel.
The absence of the usual fans welcoming party was very loud.
The usual cheering and drumming which characterised the Stars arrival back from away games through out the qualifiers, was absent this time.
Some fans that travelled to cheer the team in Egypt arrived two hours before the Black Stars but didn’t bother to wait and provide at least an encouraging welcome.
The absence of a welcoming party shocked the President of the GFA, Kwesi Nyantakyi.
But the furious fans insist that the team is not due any such ceremony.
Earlier interactions with the supporters union, which returned from Egypt expressed worries describing the Stars showing at the competition as making their work useless and discouraging.
