Italy’s coach Marcello Lippi yesterday completed his monitoring of the Black Stars after sitting through Ghana’s 1-0 win over Senegal in Group D of the African Cup of Nations.
Marcello Lippi, whose side face Ghana in the first round at the World Cup, was in the crowd for their match, which was his second after watching the Black Stars play Nigeria in the first group game.
The Italian has been gathering notes for the clash between the two countries at the World Cup finals in Germany later this year.
Lippi, after Ghana’s first group game insisted that the game did not reflect the true performance of the world cup side.
But the tough Italian manager might have seen a different Ghanaian style of play in Friday’s game against Senegal.
Ghana, one of the Africa’s five qualifiers for the world cup are in the same group of with Italy, Czech Republic and the United States.
The Black Stars making their debut at the world cup play Italy’s Azzurini in the opening group E game in Hanover on June 12.
