Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah says he is satisfied with the team’s play in yesterday’s loss to Nigeria.
A late strike from Taye Taiwo gave the Nigerians a 1-0 win over Ghana in a group D match at the African Cup of Nations.
The 85th minute strike put the game beyond the Ghanaians but Appiah remains confident in the games ahead.
"I'm very happy with the way we played. We shouldn't be down -- if we keep playing like that I think the result will come," Appiah said after the game.
However Ghana’s coach Ratomir Dujkovic says the team would need to overcome their ineptitude in front of goal to qualify to the next round of the African Nations Cup.
Dujkovic, who prior to the game had predicted a win for the Stars, said, "We can only qualify from our group if we play better against Senegal and Zimbabwe."
"The problem was that we couldn't score goals."
Ghana need a win in their second group match against Senegal to enhance their chances of avoiding a first round exit.
And Dujkovic admits it is a difficult task. However, he remains hopeful that the Black Stars can shake off the Nigeria defeat and impress on Friday.
"Senegal are a good side but I will not change my team too much for that game. We will prepare well and qualify for the quarter finals", said the Serbian.
