Ghana’s Minister for Education, Youth and Sports, Yaw Osafo Marfo is confident that the Black Stars have what it takes to win as they play archrivals Nigeria this afternoon in Port Said, Egypt.
Speaking from the U.K, Mr. Osafo Marfo said there are lots of incentives for the Black Stars to win this afternoon’s match and improve their chances for a 5th Nations Cup win.
Osafo-Marfo has predicted victory for the Black Stars when they come up against Nigeria’s Super Eagles.
“We would win the game 2-1. Ghana would start off the competition on a good note beating the Nigerians today,” Osafo Marfo said.
There’s been some mixed reactions amongst Ghanaian football fans following the Black Stars’ three successive losses prior to their first group D game.
But hours leading to the game, many Ghanaians no appear to be growing in confidence.
Ghana would hoping to avenge the 1-0 loss suffered against Nigeria at Mali 2002.
Also the president of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi is confident the Stars would come out unscathed against the Super Eagles.
“We are confident of our chances against the Nigerians. Some injuries hampered our preparations but we are still sure of beating the Nigerians,” Nyantakyi said from the Stars’ Port Said base.
