Ghana’s Black Stars arrived in Egypt in the late hours of Tuesday, six clear days before opening group D match against Nigeria in the 2006 African Nations Cup.
The Black Stars have spent the last three weeks training in Tunisia and would be having their first training session in Port Said today.
Ghana lost two preparatory matches, falling 1-0 to fellow World Cup qualifiers Togo before going down 2-0 to defending African Nation's Cup champions Tunisia.
After the game against Nigeria’s Super Eagles on Monday, Ghana will also face Senegal and Zimbabwe in Group D action.
But Ghana’s group opponents, the Super Eagles have left their arrival date in Egypt very late.
The Nigerians say they will arrive in Egypt on Friday, when the opening ceremony for the competition is well underway.
Ghana arrived with their 23-man squad who would be seeking a historic fifth African Nations Cup title.
Ghana last won the competition in 1982 beating Libya 7-6 on penalties after drawing 1-1 in regulation time.
