Ghana’s deputy minister for education and sports, Osei Bonsu Amoah, has officially written to inform soccer legend, Abedi Ayew Pele, of President J. A. Kufuor’s decision to appoint him as a special representative for Ghana’s 2006 World Cup campaign.
A statement signed by Mr Amoah, stated: “You will be expected to play official roles assigned to you by the President and to serve on various committees of the 2006 World Cup campaign”.
The statement congratulated the soccer maestro for the honour done him by President Kufuor.
President Kufour last week appointed the Ghanaian football legend as a special representative for Ghana’s 2006 World Cup campaign.
FIFA boss, Sepp Blatter also congratulated the Ghanaian President for Abedi Pele’s appointment.
