Bundesliga side FSV Mainz are in high spirits with the capture of 19-year-old Black Stars striker, Prince Tagoe.
The young striker is currently participating for Ghana in the African Cup of Nations campaign in Egypt, where Mainz general manager Christian Heidel flew out to complete negotiations.
Tagoe was the top scorer in the Ghanaian premier league with 17 goals for Hearts of Oak last season, and Heidel could not hide his excitement at the capture.
"We are delighted that the difficult negotiations have come to a happy end," the general manager said.
"The signing of Prince Tagoe is an investment in the future.
"He is a 19-year-old with enormous potential and we're sure that this potential will continue to develop with us," he added.
The teenage star will move to the Bruchweg Stadion at the end of the African Cup of Nations on an 18-month loan deal.
Mainz have the option of signing the player on a permanent deal until 2010 should Tagoe impress.
