Borussia Dortmund have completed the signing of Vitesse Arnhem striker Matthew Amoah.
The 25-year-old Black Stars player put pen-to-paper on a two-year contract at the Westfalenstadion on Thursday, and will join the 1997 UEFA Champions League winners in January.
The news comes as a huge boost to BVB boss Bert van Marwijk, who coached Amoah in the 1999/2000 season at Fortuna Sittard.
After losing Jan Koller, Cedric van Gun and Lars Ricken with cruciate ligament injuries this autumn, Dortmund desperately needed to sign a quality goal-getter to help build upon a solid first half of the Bundesliga season, and landed their number one choice.
"We had a whole range of options, but Amoah was always our preferred choice," said Dortmund executive Hans-Joachim Watzke.
