Franz Beckenbauer, the Chairman of the organising committee of the 2006 Football World Cup in Germany arrives in Accra today.

Beckenbauer will formally present Ghana’s invitation to the world cup on his visit.

A dinner would be held in Accra at 18:30GMT to welcome the celebrated German's arrival.

The former German star will also do a presentation on the organisation of the tournament.

Beckenbauer is on a tour of the five African finalists for next year’s tournament in pursuance of Germany’s agenda of making the world cup finals “a time to make friends”.

He made his first stop in Tunis and stopped over in Angola.

Ghana is one of the five African representatives for next years world cup finals.

Ghana's Black Stars are in Group Two together with Italy, Czech Republic and the United States.
