The Confederation of African Football, CAF will pay a visit to Ghana from January 3-7 2006, to inspect the extent of Ghana’s preparedness to host the 2008 African Cup of Nations.
The three-man delegation be led by CAF’s executive committee member, Slim Aloulou of Tunisia, and will include director of communications Suleiman Habuba as well as Jean Marie Webber marketing advisor to CAF.
The visit will be CAF’s second trip to Ghana to keep an eye on the progress of work on the four centers earmarked for the hosting of the tournament.
With 25 months to the tournament, Ghana is yet to begin construction work on the four venues to host the championship.
Officials of the local organizing committee and government have however assured that work will begin next year.
