Accra Hearts of Oak have been spared the trouble of playing the first round of preliminary matches for next season’s African Champions League.
The Confederation of African Football says the decision was taken in view of the Ghanaian club’s impressive history in the competition.
Ghana’s other contender for the competition, Kumasi Asante Kotoko, have gained qualification into the second preliminary round without kicking a ball.
