AshantiGold have completed the off-season’s first major transfer beating Kumasi Asante Kotoko to the signature of Berekum Arsenals marksman, Alex Asamoah.

With the 2005 Premier league over, the local player transfer market has shifted into gear.

Though the Porcupine Warriors were thought to be close to signing the player, AshantiGold moved quickly to secure the player’s services for an undisclosed amount.

Reports have however put the transfer figure to close to 100m cedis on a 2-year contract.

Ashanti gold has also written officially to Accra Hearts of Oak requesting the transfer of midfielder Adjah Tetteh.

In a related development, a source close to the board of directors of AshantiGold has hinted that the board will confirm the appointment of David Duncan as head coach of the club at a meeting today.

Also expected to be confirmed is Cudjoe Fianoo as club CEO.
